A background in medicine & movement motivates me to meet specific needs for your practice and wellbeing…

Before I went to medical school I became a Group Fitness Instructor, and I taught step, aerobics, strength, and spinning. The energy of exercise with others, the positive motivation that came from it, and the structure of building a class to best suit the participants needs was how I first found a love for moving my body. Eventually this expanded to enjoying endurance activities like running, outdoor physical activity such as hiking with my family, and of course, yoga.

In medical school I enjoyed anatomy, and also the lab where we learned hands-on treatment of patients using Osteopathic Manipulation. This led to me specializing in not only Family Practice but also Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. I find that many people seek a better understanding of ways to support their body and overall health through movement practices and body work. Therefore, my experience as a yogi and fitness instructor has helped me in the clinical setting.

In the yoga studio, I have brought my background as a fitness instructor, my own path as a yogi, and my medical background to create classes that hopefully leave participants feeling safe, supported, stronger, and with improved mobility.

I can’t wait to meet you on your mat.
